Located on the left river side of the Tiber, just 20 kilometers from the city of Rome, Ancient Ostia was the main port of Rome founded in the 4TH century B.C. to facilitate control on navigation from the Mediterranean sea.
The ruins remains equal only to that of Pompey represent an extraordinary document of the intense daily life of its inhabitants , mainly merchants which numbered about 50.000 during its most florid period under the Empire.

This excursion we lead you to the major monumental complex of Ancient Ostia such as the theatre, the Baths of Neptune, temples and mythreums and several of the insulae (apartament complex) together with numerous curiosities testifying to the daily life of the city.

The archeological sights of Ostia Antica are closed to the public on Monday.

The tour fee is 45 Euro per adult and 30 Euro per student (11 - 26 years) , 15 Euro for kids under 10 years, entirely free for under 6 years.

The ticket fee is not included (currently 6.50 Euro per adult, 3.25 Euro reduced price for EU Citizens between 18 and 25, free entrance for EU CItizens under 18 and over 65) but you can use RomaPass on that tour!
